"Then" is when it won a Coupe des Alpes and its class in the 1948 Alpine Rally - the b&w picture shows the original owner Robin Richards, who later became a well known BBC Commentator, and navigator, John Beaumont. In the same year it finished second British car in the 12 hour Sports Car Race at Montlhery, near Paris.

The car has a 1100cc Singer engine, modified by HRG with twin SU carburetors. The brakes are cable operated and have magnesium drums which expand under heavy use so an adjuster is provided on the cockpit floor.
